That is such a wonderful photograph.

Sometimes I miss Tokyo, especially the tiny French restaurant we used to go to. The people there were awesome and they recognized us every time we came in -- it was like a real neighborhood bistro, like living in New York or what I imagine living in New York would be like, where you had particular places you went and they were yours.

... um.

There are some spots like that I really miss, too...like in Pohang, all the teachers were so excited when a cafe was built just a minute's walk away from our school, and we ended up on awesome terms with the owners. I got a free glass of kiwi juice on my last day. :)

Argh, iTunes keeps throwing things like k-pop and Pimsleur's Korean at me, which is so not cool. Writing! Yes!

It's good fun. I enjoyed it last year and didn't want to muck around with Yuletide this winter, so it's been my go-to for prompts lately.

It's from Master and Commander, right? I somehow never got around to watching that and now I feel like I'll be disappointed if there's not a scene with UFOs and levitating whales.
