I have too many fucking books.
I also discovered a ton of old photos, an old sketchbook, a notebook half-full of dream interpretations, a stack of YMs and Seventeens I used to buy on the sly when I was around twelve, a bag full of freebies from DC Pride, and of course I had to pause and look through all that and more.
Can I just say I've produced some horrible poetry in my life? Being fourteen is no excuse.
Still in the process of penciling in my goodbyes before I go--lunch with
aivaphoenix yesterday, hanging out with La Actriz this weekend, hopefully swinging by
nakeno's sometime, then seeing Rasputina with Xanthe and Fleur and possibly a few others on Monday.
Yesterday, I packed a suitcase full of clothes--the other one gets shoes, toiletries, books, and whatever other random things I need. I managed to fit in a decent year-round wardrobe while still taking into account the fact that, being a 5'8" 36C with size 9 feet, my options might be a little limited if I try to shop locally. I figure one thing I can skimp on is sleepwear--as much as I prefer to sleep in pajama pants and huge shirts, there's nothing fancy about either and I should have no trouble picking up a few things along those lines in Korea. I've also imported all my CDs, scanned some sheet music, backed up my hard drive, downloaded Skype, and picked up some hair dye. All important things.
Today, I cleaned out my car and got an oil change, since I'll be handing custody of it over to the littlest Gorgon, who just got his license. Some of the contents included: a half-full bottle of SoCo, an unopened bottle of Jack Daniels, a pair of flower-print platform shoes (I think I last wore them to a costume party), hiking boots, racquetballs, a mega-ton of folders and booklets from networking events, an award that was supposed to get to mailed to the governor because he forgot it at a business gala, some scrapbooking supplies I used for activities when I was still mentoring foster kids, a couple cigars I got in Puerto Rico and meant to give to the little Gorgon, a butterfly net, and a few Nutrigrain bars. This is only the trunk. The backseat was slightly less colorful.
Did I mention I have too many books? And that I'm late with birthday fics again? OMG LICIA I HOPE YOU ENJOY BEING AN OLD FART WITH CREAKY JOINTS ILU!!!

I miss you! :( :( :( Expect a phone call before you run away! Right now we're trying to make sure our porch doesn't flood into our house...Oh Fay.
