So I figure this might be a good idea--keep track of my wordcounts, reflect a little on the crap I've cranked out beyond just LOL BUTSEHKS, etc. And everyone else is doing it, right?
January wordcount: 19,006
PDA (House/Wilson; 3,951 words; NC-17):
Prompted by
hwshipper, I wrote the guys making out in a totally dark restaurant with a couple of complete strangers. And it was an absolute bitch. As sexy as the thought might be, I couldn't get my mind away from the fact that, as doctors and intelligent human beings, there was very little Our Heroes would actually be okay with about the situation. I realize there's this thing called artistic license, but having, say, Wilson get fucked over the back of a booth by someone he can't even see and could have leprosy for all he knows...yeah. I feel the same way about things like fumbling for lube or not knowing how to give a perfect blowjob right off the bat--they're not ZOMGHAWT, but things like that are still part of the experience, and glossing them over in favor of straight-up flawless smut seems like a cop-out. That's not to say I advocate describing every drop of drool that lands on Character A's hirsute testicles or anything--there's detail and there's overkill. In sum, I just couldn't let go of the drawbacks and focus on the sex with this one, so I'm pretty ambivalent about it.
Tightrope (Chase/Cameron, Amber/Cameron, Thirteen/Cameron; 595 words; PG-13):
Wrote this while I couldn't sleep, liked it more than I expected. It just strikes me as impractical for Chase and Cameron to still be hanging around the hospital instead of spreading their wings and exploring new lands, and I don't think either of them are truly okay with that either. Okay, the actors' contracts aren't up, and it would be sad to see the old minions cut out completely, but seriously, Cameron has to be kind of frustrated.
Neatly Borne (Cameron gen; 640 words; PG):
Cameron, back when she was still new and learning the ropes. How the times have changed. I posted some of this last year, so I subtracted those 377 words from the final product, meaning it's actually 263 words rather than 640.
And Action (House/Wilson; 7,402 words (half the total wordcount); NC-17):
nakeno and I back in our sandbox, doing what we like best: seeing how long we can make a single sex scene last. This is pure indulgence, but it's House with a camcorder and a vibrator and Wilson being dominant, so it's a worthy indulgence.
Sex, Drugs, and Hello Kitty (Missy/Torrance; 1,467 words; NC-17):
Fluffy Bring It On femslash. Yeah, what?
Lit II (House/Wilson; 3,692 words (half the total wordcount); NC-17):
nakeno and I finally stopped poking around with all the other toys in that aforementioned sandbox and wrapped up the second installment of Lit. In the first part, the guys got stoned and screwed around, and Wilson eventually admitted maybe it was worth repeating. This is the repeating.
Showstopper (Roxie/Velma; 701 words; NC-17):
After the events in canon, the girls hit the stage together and find themselves in need of a new gimmick when their spotlight starts to dim.
Square One (Amber/Thirteen; 935 words; NC-17):
Kinky porn. That's as apt as the description gets.
