I'll generally put an "unbeta'd" in the notes, as a sort of notice to readers that it's find to let me know if there's a typo or some egregious error I've managed to miss. Generally my feeling is (and I could be wrong) that people are less likely to point that stuff out if the fic has been beta'd because they don't want to step on the beta's toes. That's how I feel, anyway. So instead of throwing myself open to beta by gangbang, I'll just put the note in there and that way people can bring stuff to my attention without feeling like they're taking liberties.

YMMV.

I've always been under the impression that people who want to point out errors are going to do it anyway. That's just been my experience. No beta is perfect, and it's possible for a third party to catch a mistake and mention it without being a presumptuous ass.

May be my own weirdness. If there's a beta credited, I'm a little less likely to point stuff out, especially if the beta is someone I know.
