OMFG, there's another Yvi! I've known this (she's written some Buffy and X-Files fic), but now she's gone and signed up for both Yuletide and the Archive of Our Own before me, which means I don't get to be Yvi.
At least there's no other Recrudescence. Other than the person who took that name on Twitter. Gnerf.
Anyway! Now that I'm done pissing and moaning...welcome, Yuletide writer!
First of all, hello and thank you in advance for writing for me! I'm really excited about all the fandoms I submitted and I hope you see something in one of them that inspires you and/or makes you squee.
All my own fic is tagged, as well as archived in my memories, if you want to take a look around. My biggest request is that, whatever you write, it makes me believe it. If you want to write about the Carnivale characters planting lemon trees in space, that's completely awesome. As long as it's written convincingly.
I like backstories. I like smut. I like minor characters getting fleshed out. I like all these things together. Now, as for fandom specifics...
1. Carnivale has such a diverse cast of characters that it's hard for me to narrow down what I'd like to see, because just about anything is going to make me happy. I'm curious about the idea of Sofie and Libby making a run for Hollywood on their own, and also just about how all these characters came to know each other and join the carnival in the first place. Ability to capture the show's atmosphere in writing will earn you bouquets of chocolate roses and my eternal thanks. If you're ambitious enough to write a post-series apocalyptic showdown, that would rock incredibly hard.
2. Firefly is one of my favorite shows ever and one of the few fandoms to ever get me contemplating RPS. For this, I blame Nathan Fillion hugging people and frolicking around naked and everyone talking about how affectionate he is. Also his blatant fangirling of both Sean and Adam. So cute and so easy to run with. I know Adam's married, so if you do slash and he gets included, I'd prefer it be due to him and his wife having an understanding or summat and not him being a dirty cheating bastard.
3. Cut-and-pasting this part from last year, since it still applies. The Name of the Rose is a book I've been in love with for a decade now. I remember when I read it for the first time and was totally floored by the insinuation that there was hot monk sex going on. With that in mind, Adelmo is a character who intrigues me because he kicks off the entire story by dying--he's already out of the picture when the story starts, but he's also at the center of it. Anything about him, whether it's him rhapsodizing about his illuminations or Berenger perving on him during vespers or Adso chronicling his own thoughts on the matter, I'll be happy.
4. Chuck. I honestly only started watching because of Adam Baldwin and unexpectedly got sucked into the cuteness and quirkiness of it. Preserving those two qualities would be super, but if you want to do something darker (maybe from Casey's past, before his current assignment_, that could also be really interesting. I'm not a huge fan of Sarah and am mostly intrigued by the Chuck/Casey dynamic--not necessarily in a slashy sense, though I totally approve of that as well, but just as far as how these two vastly different personalities adapt to each other and the bizarre directions both their lives have taken.
In conclusion, thank you so much for writing whatever you do, and I hope you have a kick-ass time doing it!

Hey, just so's you know, you can have multiple pseudonyms on AO3, and they don't have to be unique. So you could still get something like "Yvi (Recrudescence)" on your fics, where 'Yvi' would be the pseudonym you chose for that fic and 'Recrudescence' would be your actual unique ID. I know it's not quite the same, but...
