Meeeeh. Still feeling quite lousy, but at least I get to work from home tomorrow until that evening event. So, in order to combat the lousiness, I give you, ganked from everyone and their great-aunt Sally:

Ten Things That Have Recently Made Me Happy

1. Across the Universe
2. Spending the weekend with La Actriz
3. Writing teen!House and teen!Wilson with [livejournal.com profile] nakeno
4. Renting Swing Kids on my way home today
5. My job
6. Getting new feedback on a few of my older Housefics today
7. Fall
8. Knowing I don't have to pay for heat this winter
9. Getting my GRE writing score today
10. The fact that I've been in this fandom over a year now and have met some incredibly cool people, in spite of being an incredibly shy person. *offers up sincere but probably virus-laden hugs*

I'm glad renting Swing Kids made you happy. Watching it makes me cry and feel miserably and I had to do so several times in order to write "It Don't Mean a Thing" last year. It's a great movie, but I can't imagine ever actually watching it again, except maybe the dance scenes, because RSL looked AMAZING. (I love a man in a hat.)

Well, I haven't watched it yet, so the happy factor may change, but I've been meaning to rent it for a while. RSL swing-dancing and flaunting his cheekbones. Yesplz.

I love Swing Kids. Did you ace the writing test?

I did way better than I did on the math portion. It was good being able to focus on something non-abysmal, GRE-wise.

I'm sure you did not do abysmally. I hate standardized tests except the kind where you get to write an essay. I do not test well, and it's always been a sore point with me that I get higher math scores, when English is my best subject. Did you take the newly revised GRE (which sounds horrendous) or the old format?

I'm going to try and get to it this weekend, while I'm wrapped in blankets and chugging soup. Fangirlish review post to come, most definitely.
