Yeah, House kind of sucked tonight.
We get it. Big, Deep Discussions and Reluctant But Real Human Interactions. Swing that sledgehammer a little harder and throw in another "I was raped" or six just to make sure.
And evidently everything is okay with Chase now that his bruise is healed, or we're just expected to believe he's too impoverished/big of a pushover/stupid to fight the power now that House is done jerking Tritter around. I'm hoping there's more resolution on this in the future, since it seemed pretty telling that Chase, the most laidback and most long-standing of the fellows, was ready to turn in his boss when things got heavy. No matter how easygoing he is, I find it hard to believe he'd just let everything slide back into place.
Does anyone on this show not have daddy issues?
I'm bracing myself for the imminent onslaught of House/Wilson role-playing fic, although I will admit that line almost saved the episode for me.
It didn't, but having Wilson in a sweater-vest and rolled-up sleeves was a nice touch. Yeah, it was a change from the normal episode structure, but definitely not a good change. And Cameron being weepy with the geezer was completely extraneous. Guess the writers finally caught onto the fact that having her play the spunky-but-illogical challenger to Wilson's motives during the Tritter arc didn't do her any favors. Seeing as she has absolutely no reason to be ripping into him in the first place and whatall... Clearly Wilson won that round, and now it's time to frantically backpedal and remind everyone that Cameron is still a good-hearted individual who isn't above wearing impractically low-cut tops to work. And cutting Chase and Foreman almost completely out of the episode, just to make sure she stood out that much more.
However, I am not above running wildly outside of canon with Cuddy's "she's being punished" line. I've still got twentysome more fics to write featuring the ladies and lately I've fallen into the habit of writing almost nothing but really lengthy H/W WIPs.
